Clogging Competition at Lagoon

Saturday we attended our final dance competition of the year at Lagoon :) Erika and Kara both competed 4 clogging dances and the Level 1 Clogging class that Erika and Megan teach received the Grand Champion award for their "Ice Cream Freeze" Dance. There is 1 little girl in her class who hasn't been able to catch on very well, and it is very noticeable in the dance so it was a great surprise for them to receive that award!! Erika's 4 dances ended up with 2 "High Gold" Firsts and another 1st and a 3rd, and Kara's received 1- 1st place Grand Champion- and 3- 2nd places!! It was a very fun competition!! After they danced they wanted to ride the rides, but it looked like it was going to rain, so we drove to Old Navy and Target and shopped for summer clothes while Dad slept in the car- that is right were we like him while we are shopping :) Then we went back to Lagoon to pick up the score sheets for Erika's dances and the girls talked us into letting them ride one ride, so we bought enough individual tickets for them to ride "The Spider." Hopefully we will make it back to Lagoon to spend the whole day there, later this summer when the weather is nicer!! We stopped for dinner at Cafe Rio on the way home- It was a fun get away with just the family- no friends this time, which was nice!!

Welcome to our blog!

Hello friends and family :)
I am new to this blogging craze so after spending hours trying to figure this out yesterday I am finally adding my first post!

Ken and I have been married for almost 21 years and we have 4 beautiful daughters:

Emily who is 24 is Ken's daughter from his first marriage. She is married to Clay Yerrington and has 2 cute kiddos of her own- Madison and Chase :) They live in Meridian Idaho, but they visit regularly and we love to see them when they do! Her kids are adorable and so well mannered and we love having them around!!

Erika is our oldest, she is 17 and a junior at Highland High School. She has been dancing since she was 2 years old and has been on the dance team at Highland all 3 years and will be on it again for her senior year. She also teaches clogging to little 6-8 yr olds at her dance studio. She is currently seeking a summer job:)

Megan is our middle daughter, she is 15 and a sophomore at Highland High School. She has also been dancing since she was 2, but she has been a cheerleader for the last 3 years. For her Junior year she decided to try out for cheer and the dance team and she made both teams, so she is going to be a busy girl and will not have time for a job. They practice all summer, so between both teams, she will not have much free time this summer.

Kara is our youngest, she is 8 and a 2nd grader at Chubbuck Elementary. She is also a dancer at the Dance Factory and did her first solo this year. She received many awards for it at competitions. She is a very good reader and speller and has wonderful grades. Things seem to come pretty easy for her :)

Our family enjoys spending time camping, hiking, 4-wheeling and most of all attending dance competitions and performances together. We are in a very busy time of life right now with our girls involved in so many things, but as hard and stressful as it is, I am sure we will miss it when they move out and we don't have so many activities to attend.

I am excited to start sharing things on our blog, if for nothing else to have somewhat of a history written somewhere, since I am not too good about writing in a journal! More to come soon :)
